Layout Builder
A digital twin of your warehouse — every aisle, slot and travel path.
Every optimisation starts with an honest map. Layout Builder turns your physical warehouse into a precise travel network — floors, aisles, bays, levels, staging lanes and one-way routes — that every other Awarehouse module computes against.
1
shared distance engine across the whole suite
100%
of plans computed on real travel geometry, not straight lines
Most warehouse software treats the building as a spreadsheet of locations. Awarehouse treats it as geometry. Layout Builder models the facility as a routed travel network: where operators can walk, which lanes are one-way, how staging areas connect to pick faces, and exactly how many metres separate any two slots.
The result is a single shared distance engine. When Smart Slotting scores a location, when Replenishment sequences a move chain, when Wave Planning estimates pick-tour travel, and when Value Tracking prices a saved metre — they are all reading the same network. One calculator, no contradictions.
How it works
Layout Builder, in three moves.
01
Capture
Import or draw the facility: floors, aisles, racks, staging lanes and docks. Existing location lists seed the model.
02
Route
Define walklines, one-way lanes and staging strategies. The builder compiles a routed graph of real operator travel.
03
Publish
Validate distances against known routes, then publish. Every module immediately plans against the same geometry.
Capabilities
- Floor, aisle, bay, level and slot modelling with a canonical location grammar
- Routed walklines with one-way lanes and directional gates
- Staging and dock connectivity — direct, gated or aisle-based strategies
- Zone definitions for planning, eligibility and labour rules
- Native location-code mapping, so operators keep the IDs they already use
- Interactive layout preview to validate the model before publishing
